Basic eOption Review:

If you're looking for a basic discount online brokerage account, eOption may be a good choice for you. As part of Regal Securities, which opened in 1976, the online broker division opened in 2007 offering online access to low cost trading, fast execution along with low commission rates. The broker considers itself a deep discount brokerage, which many people are attracted to. The account is especially recommended for options traders.

eOption account features

One of the best features of this account is the fast opening of both IRA and individual and joint accounts, which average just 15 minutes. While there are a number of screens to go through and questions to answer when opening an account, the fact that it is opened quickly is a plus.

The online trading platform is not the highest tech but still offers an easy to use interface, which those with less technical skills may actually be drawn to. The website is nothing fancy and is not updated very frequently, but it is stable, which offers many account holders just enough technology so that they can understand it and trade easily.

The online educational tools and screeners make eOption useful for those new to online trading. The downside to the features is that the broker has no mobile apps at all for popular devices such as iPhone, iPad, Android, and Blackberry, which definitely knocks points off when the broker is reviewed since these mobile trading has gained in popularity.

eOption Fees

Low cost trades starting at just $3 is appealing as well as option trades at $3 with online a $.10 per contract. The opening balance for those in the United States is $0 and international account holders can open with a deposit of $5,000. The streaming quotes from their website are free as is the platform itself. There is an annual fee of $50 on accounts that have not had at least two trades in the previous 12 months and also if the account has credit and debits that are less than $10,000. There is a $15 set up fee for IRAs and annual fees on IRAs is $25.
