Basic Fidelity Review:

Online brokerage accounts have become very popular and one of the largest mutual funds company globally is Fidelity Investments. These accounts are easy to navigate and offer many features that you simply won't find in other online brokers. It is a great account for the beginner investor and those that wish to have a long-term investment plan such as those that plan to have their retirement be their main source of income.

Fidelity Account Features

Opening a brokerage account at Fidelity also gives you an option to bank there, which can mean having both your bank and brokerage accounts in the same area allowing you to view all of your accounts. The account offers several different commission free funds, very useful research tools, and top notch customer service available 24 hours a day. Fidelity also has several branch locations in a variety of states, making it easy to speak to someone in person if you need to. You'll find stock trades as low as $7.95.

If you prefer mobile trading, Fidelity has apps for the Android, iPhone, iPad, and Blackberry.

Fidelity Fees

You can open a brokerage account at Fidelity with a $2,500 minimum and there are no fees to open the account and no annual fees associated with the account. You can transfer funds or make deposits via checks by mailing with the envelopes they provide or by making the deposit at a local branch. Deposits by checks are available instantly to trade. You also have the option of opening either a Roth IRA or Traditional IRA, both require a $2,500 minimum to open but this can be waved if you are rolling over or transferring to Fidelity. The commissions are a bit higher when compared to other brokerage firms, but it is a solid financial institution that has proven its stability through the years.

Fidelity is an investment broker that has received rewards as being the #1 broker for two years in a row by Smart Money – mainly due to its ease of use, research tools, and competitive pricing. If you're new at trading, you might wish to check this account out or if you have an IRA to rollover, this may also be a very good option for you.
