Basic SogoTrade Review:

If you are looking for an online deep discount broker, you will find it in SogoTrade. The broker, along with Genesis Securities, became part of Wang Investments as of late 2010. The clearing house for the broker is now Pension Financial Services. During the transition there were several interruptions in balances of account being updated in a timely fashion, customer service was lacking and ACH bank transfers were often delayed. Currently, the dust seems to have settled with the mergers and things are much better than during the transitional period.

SogoTrade account features

The broker has several benefits when opening accounts that can be taken advantage of. You have the ability to open a checking account account that offers a money market fund and includes a debit card and check writing ability, traditional and rollover IRAs, education savings accounts, technical tools for portfolio managing, certificates of deposit, fixed income, and tax filing accounting tools.

In addition, online educational tools are available, which includes the basics of investing along with stocks basics and the ability to learn about risks when investing. These tools make it an ideal account for a new trader to gain a lot of insight about the market, how it works, and where to begin building an investment portfolio.

The account comes with real-time streaming quotes and watch lists to make managing your account easier and faster. The account does not have mobile apps currently available.

SogoTrade fees

Fees you will find associated with the account are quite low. EFTs and stocks can be bought at $3, options are $5 with a $.50 per contract charge, no-load mutual funds can be purchased for $15. The account can be opened with a minimum of $500, which is very reasonable for anyone that wishes to get into online trading.

Overall, the brokerage account seems to be solid with less than normal fees associated with the account. Reviews of the account are quite positive but opening the account appears to take a bit longer when compared to other online broker accounts.
